Finally, the long anticipated ISO 45001: 2018 is published today! Read more here.
With this publication, it will replaced the BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 Standard. Organisation which was currently certified to BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 Standard will have 3 years grace period to upgrade its Occupational Safety and Health Management System to ISO 45001: 2018 Standard.

ISO 45001 is currently being developed by a committee of occupational health and safety experts, and will follow other generic management system approaches such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. It will take into account other International Standards in this area such as OHSAS 18001, the International Labour Organization's ILO-OSH Guidelines, various national standards and the ILO's international labour standards and conventions

ISO 45001, The new International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems is the world’s first occupational health and safety international standard. It is currently being developed and will help organization to provide a safe and healthy workplace for its workers and other people, prevent deaths, work-related injury and ill-health as well as continually improve its OH&S performance.
The next development stage as well as an anticipated time scale, will be announced after the next ISO committee meeting in September which remaining comments submitted during the first DIS ballot shall be reviewed and also finalize the content for the second DIS.
As a result, publication of the final standard is now expected in the second half of 2017
